School Learning Story

Our school's learning story demonstrates how our school community is working to improve learning and well-being for students. This ongoing commitment is driven by a continuous focus on enhancing student achievement and enriching students’ experiences at school. Our efforts are guided by district’s strategic plan and the Ministry of Education and Child Care’s Framework for Enhancing Student Learning policy. This is our collective learning journey, and reflects our shared commitment to growth, collaboration and continuous improvement in support of student success.

Our Focus for 2025-2026

While our overall aim is always to empower all of our students to develop their individual potential and acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to contribute to a healthy, democratic, and pluralistic society, we also maintain a school-wide focus which guides our learning journey and informs the strategies we implement throughout each year. This focus reflects the evolving needs of our learners, and our commitment to supporting their growth.

For 2025-2026, we will continue to work on strengthening literacy skills and fostering a deep sense of empathy, identity, and acceptance of others. This focus is deeply rooted in the First Peoples Principles of Learning, which guide us in creating meaningful, inclusive learning experiences that honor diverse perspectives and emphasize the importance of connectedness, respect, and community. By embedding these values into our teaching and school culture, we aim to nurture thoughtful, compassionate learners who are equipped with the skills and mindset to thrive in an increasingly diverse and dynamic society.  In particular, we are planning to centre our learning around "story."  How can sharing our stories, and engaging with stories of others support our understanding of powerful literacy?  How can listening to, and sharing stories, help us to better understand and appreciate the experiences of others?
