Our staff have been working with Destine Lord, anti-racism and inclusion consultant, to learn how to effectively address incidents of bias, racism, and discrimination.  McKay CARES has been our social responsibility matrix for over a decade, and our school culture is warm, caring, and kind. But as students navigate conflicts, and reflect or parrot what they see and hear online, we do sometimes see incidents of bias, racism, and discrimination. Destine has supported us in understanding bias, and has helped us with some concrete tools for addressing negative incidents, such as the racism interrupters graphic pictured here.
