Welcome Back to School - Student Attendance on September 7th

Dear McKay Parents:

We hope that you have had a great summer and that you had the chance to create some special memories with friends and family. I am looking forward to getting to know you all and all of the staff at McKay are excited about the upcoming school year.

The Provincial Health Authorities, the Ministry of Education and our School District is currently providing School Administrators with the latest Covid-19 health and safety protocols and procedures to ensure that we are doing our best to keep everyone safe and healthy at school.

An update for McKay parents on these new guidelines will be provided via email later this week.

We have just been informed that all Richmond School staff must be trained in the latest Covid-19 safety protocols for public schools in BC - on the morning of Tuesday September 7th, prior to students arriving for school.

As a result of this required training, we must move the time for attending school to later in the morning.

Grade 1s to 7s - attend from 10:00 am - 11:00 am.

Kindergarten students - attend from 10:15 - 11:00 am

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

We thank you in advance for your understanding as we receive the latest information regarding the current Covid context - and ensure that our return to school procedures are consistent with provincial guidelines and that we are able to do our best to keep our students, staff and families safe this year.

Stay tuned for an email later this week outlining these safety guidelines as well as more details on the first week of school at McKay
